The Wider Factors

Writer's picture: William GranthamWilliam Grantham

When creating the quiz show we had to bring into account the factors that would influence the outcome such as budget, audience and time scale. These influences would have to be at the forefront of every decision we would make .

Budget

The budget for the project was essentially £0, we did however have the resources of the college available to us. This meant that things like studio space, equipment hire and props were all paid for by the college. We took advantage to the tools available to us such as the set building stuff so we could transform the studio which made the set feel a-lot higher budget than it actually was

Audience

The target audience for this show is family's from 13-40. This meant we have to cater to a wide audience with 'family friendly' esc format. his meant things like language, jokes and length had to be taken into account as family's with younger kids tend to have a shorter attention span than older kids. We also had to cater the sorts of things involved with the challenges as the younger generation wouldn't be able to understand how to solve things like algebraic equations so had to make them fairly simple but understandable.

Time Scale

We had been given a couple months to pull this off meaning we were slightly limited in what we could achieve with such a time scale and considering it was our first shot as a group to pull off a quiz show
