Throughout the filming of Little Women I applied my technical ability by taking charge of the camera work in most of the scenes. This was in a professional context as the performing arts guys were acting as my employer and I was the professional individual who they were relying on to make their film the best it could be. One of the problems they were having was with the audio, they didnt feel it was capturing the actors voices very well, so I suggested using a boom mic that would be able to be placed closer to the actors and would also be a higher quality recording of sound as opposed to the on board audio from the camera.

Another issue they faced was the fact the picture was way too over exposed. I explained that this was to do with the iris which controls the amount of light that is allowed onto the sensor. Since it was a bright day I changed the settings so that the sensor wasnt being bombarded by light. It also allowed more flexibility in post as if it is perfectly exposed then you can either over expose or under expose afterwards.

Throughout the editing process some of the guys had issues with the software as they werent fully clued up on how to use it. This meant I had to walk them through the basics as well as some common ediitng techniques such as match cut, parrallel editing and also just simple cutting. This could then be followed up by more advanced techniques such as colour correction and how to set out credits.
